Jill has lived in Aiken her whole life and plans to stay here to raise her family. She attended the Aiken Technical College Veterinary Assistant class in 2000. She has been working at Silver Bluff Animal Hospital as a surgical and veterinary assistant since 2001. Jill enjoys traveling and painting in her free time. She is married to Ed Platt, who owns Platinum Tile in Aiken. They have one child named Noah. Jill currently has 5 dogs (Buddha, Winston, Roo, Grady and Millie), 3 cats (Toby, Nuggy, and Stinky). Her mission is to educate and inform people of the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.

Mindy has lived in Aiken since she was three years old. She loves living in Aiken and being close to her parents who also live in Aiken. She left for 3 years to attend Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC and earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Mindy will graduate from Aiken Technical College in July of 2008 with an Associates degree in nursing (RN). She began working at Silver Bluff Animal Hospital in September of 2004 and continues to work there part time. Mindy has one son named Jay. She has a dog named Richie and 2 cats (Conrad and Tigger). Mindy´s hobbies include camping, reading, softball, and biking.
"I chose this line of work because I not only enjoy working the animals, but I also love to help teach people to take care of their pets. It´s very satisfying to see a client enter to the clinic with a bewildered, lost look and leave with a happy, bright smile." |

Shannon has lived in Aiken all of her life, and has been with Silver
Bluff Animal Hospital since she began volunteering in February of 1996. She began working full time in 1998 and has been a Veterinary Assistant here ever since. Shannon also obtained her Dog Obedience Instructor degree from Penn Foster College. Together with her coworker, Stefanie Crain, she trains dogs at Silver Bluff Animal Hospital (please see Silver Bluff Dog Training for more information). In
2001, she married Justin Phillips, who owns his own business, Total Lawn Care. They have one son named Lucas Gabriel. She has 2 dogs (Cricket & Chevy), 4 cats (Pumpkin, Bobby, Little
Kitty, & Mahlia), and 3 horses (Destiny, Vanna and Lady). Shannon enjoys horseback riding, camping, going to the mountains and spending time with her family and friends. Shannon is also a Professional Wildlife Rehabilitator and enjoys going to conferences to further her education. |

Stefanie has lived in Aiken since 1996. She has been a Veterinary Assistant at Silver Bluff Animal Hospital since 1997. She is married to Travis Crain and they have one son named Trevor.
They have two cats, two dogs (Ben and Vegas), and a horse Jasper. She also teaches the Obedience class for Silver Bluff Dog Training. She attended Tom Rose Dog Training School in St. Louis MO, and trained for Libby Strout with All Paws Dog Training.

Shannon has lived in Aiken since 1994, but grew up in Shippensburg,
Pennsylvannia. She attended the Veterinary Assistant course at Aiken Technical College in 2003. She worked at
another local veterinary hospital for a little over a year, and then came to Silver Bluff Animal Hospital in July of 2005 as a
Veterinary Assistant. Shannon has three cats, named Simmie, Mona, and Autumn, one rabbit named Tuxie, and one
dog named Tippy. She enjoys taking pictures, painting and drawing, four-wheeling,
camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities in her free time.

experience. I encourage anyone who has a great interest to work with animals to pursue
it. Whether they choose to work in grooming, kenneling, or teching, you won't find

Christy has lived in Aiken her whole life, and graduated from the
University of South Carolina Aiken with a B.S. in Biology. She has been
working with both large animals and small animals since 1994. Christy currently works
part-time at Silver Bluff Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant. In her free time, Christy loves
horse racing and horse back riding. She has five
dogs named Colie, Callie, Maddie, Nikki, and Wila. Her husband, Glenn, owns Fox Custom
Cabinetry and is a licensed builder. They have two sons. Her favorite
memory of her eldest son, Justin, is when he told her "Mommie, I love you just like a John Deere!"

how much care and understanding that goes into each case makes me feel lucky to be a part

Ashleigh has lived in North Augusta all her life. She has been married since July 2007 to her husband, Mack, who is a proud sailor in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. Ashleigh attended Aiken Technical College in 2005 and received her certificate as a Veterinary Assistant. She intends to continue her education in the spring of 2008 and obtain an AAS in Veterinary Technology from Penn Foster College. She has been working at Silver Bluff Animal Hospital since January 2006. She enjoys horse back riding, going to the beach, and spending time with all of her animals. Ashleigh currently has four dogs (Teddy, Tilly, Dodge and Kempo), three cats (Sysco, Sherbert and Gracie), and three horses (Chillie Pepper, Cherokee, and Domingo). Ashleigh is a Professional Wildlife Rehabilitator of fawns, opossums and raccoons. |

Andrea has lived in Graniteville all of her life. In 2005 she attended Aiken Technical College where she received her certification as a Veterinary Assistant. She has been working with animals ever since. She has been working at Silver Bluff Animal Hospital since March 2007. Andrea has two dogs Carolina (Lab mix) and Fred (Jack Russell Terrier), and two cats Tiger and Chaos. Andrea also enjoys going to the lake and beach on the weekends, and going fishing with her boyfriend Shane. |
